New Recipe Format at Clean Slate Farm

Let’s make this a little easier on everyone

—- UPDATE—

Okay, here we go again…I’ve recently changed over to the Yummly recipe system for all recipes. Yummly is a great community of recipe collections and it allows you to save and share recipes. Sign up for your free Yummly account here!

I recently came across a great new software plug-in for the WordPress blogging platform I use for this blog. It’s called Easy Recipe and allows me to format the recipes for better viewing and, here’s the best part, it adds a print button so you can easily print the recipes!

Over the coming weeks I’ll be updating any post with a recipe to this format and eventually all recipes will be updated.

I’m also reformatting the site for taxonomy. No, I’ve not taken up stuffing animals, this is the term used for categories and subcategories on the site. These changes will be a little more time in coming but my goal is to make it easier to find and follow what goes on here.

If you like the site and what you read please share it on FaceBook with your pals!

Thanks

Original Nestlé® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

My Favorite Cookie – Toll House Cookie Recipe

What's left of the batch of two dozen. That didn't take long!

If there were such a thing as the “best” chocolate chip cookie this is my choice. The recipe as taken from the back of the package of chocolate chips and it is the toll house cookie recipe. Accept no substitutes.

To form the cookies before baking I use a small ice cream scoop, a blue handle #40, which is roughly a little more than a tablespoon. When forming fill the scoop and lightly pack it with the palm of your hand. Plop it out on the pan and slightly flatten it.

Ii like many things about Cooks Magazine but one of the things I dislike is the constant referring to “the best…” of whatever they are making. On a technical note, I believe it’s probably possible to create “a best” recipe. On the other hand, taste is a highly subjective matter and although you can get X out of Y people to agree a recipe is “the best” I still have a problem claiming there can be “a best” recipe for cookies or pot roast from an individuals point of view.

Please don’t misunderstand me… :: Follow Gromit’s tracks for more
